Chicago-Evanston Day 0 & 1

July 22nd, 2006

I drove from State College, PA to Evanston, IL last week (July 10). I went there so that I could drop Noi off at the airport for her flight back to Thailand. The drive took about 9 hours of driving plus 90 minutes of breaks. It was a pretty lengthy and boring, but I survived. By the time I got there, I was more than ready for dinner, shower, and a warm bed.

The next day was pretty much uneventful. We planned to go into Chicago, but didn’t go because it was raining almost all day. So we ended up watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest instead. The movie wasn’t bad, but I wish it actually ended in itself. Later that day, we went to a rose garden nearby and took several dozen of photos…

Nike+ Hack!

July 20th, 2006

Background: Nike & Apple joined hand to introduce personal trainer built into your shoes and iPod. More infro here.

Since Nike sells sensors and shoes separately, I have always wondered whether I need to buy those $100 shoes or not (those shoes have special hole in which you could put the sensors in). According to this post on podophile’s blog, you can attach the sensor onto any shoes with velcro, and it would work too.

I have been thinking about buying it, but I haven’t got myself in a mood to buy a $100 shoes yet. I might have bought it if it were the time when I was in high school and was a little more crazy about shoes. This seems like a perfect mod for me. I will wait for a while to see whether it works out for people or not, then it might be time for me to get a new pair of (cheaper) running shoes and the sensor.

I’m glad Noi bought me the iPod!

รักกันไว้เถิด เราเกิดร่วมแดนไทย

July 19th, 2006

Wow… it’s been almost two months since the last entry… I’m getting lazy, am I not???

All I wanted to post today is this quote…

P.S. I will *try* to post about my recent trip to Chicago soon…
