Another year has gone by. It’s amazing how time flies so fast. A couple of people were keen to mention that now that I’m 26, I’m officially in my *late* 20’s!

Time does fly… does it not? My dad said he felt like I was just born yesterday. I guess my memory sucks and I don’t recall that much about my childhood, but I do remember many key events…

Just to recap my 26th birthday (yesterday)… I guess nothing special happened. I got calls and e-mails from people whom I care about wishing me a happy birthday. Noi was the first one to call. Mom called me at 1:10AM in the morning to wish me a happy birthday (understandably, it’ was 12:10PM in Thailand) and to tell me that she sent me an e-card that took her almost two hours to pick and to write. It was very sweet.. Other than that, nothing out of ordinary happened. I went to my office to work.. went to lunch at the same cafeteria I’ve been going almost everyday for the past month… went to play basketball with several friends, which didn’t last very long because they decide to kick us out by killing all the light in the gym.. came home and watched “Everybody loves Raymond” while having my favorite pack of instant noodles (No, I’m not that sad, I already went out for a birthday dinner with a couple of friends two days ago :P). I also got an unexpected birthday present from Michelle (just some body soap if you are wondering… perverts). What a pleasant surprise…

All things considered, I think it was a perfect birthday.. though I do miss having my birthdays back home in Thailand… Thank you everyone for wishing me a happy birthday. Please don’t worry if you forgot… I still love you all…

วันนี้อ่านข่าวเมืองไทยแล้วรู้สึกหดหู่ ทั้งเรื่องม็อบการเมืองและม็อบชาวพุทธ มองๆแล้วทำให้คิดว่านี่เดี๋ยวนี้คนไทยไม่รักชาติกันแล้วหรือถึงได้มาทะเลาะกันเองอย่างนี้ ถ้าเป็นสมัยก่อนป่านนี้ก็คงโดนพม่าตีจนเสียบ้านเสียเมืองไปแล้ว อยากให้ทุกคนลองนึกถึงเนื้อเพลงชาติด ูแล้วลองตรองดูว่าเรายังสามารถที่จะร้องเพลงชาติไทยของพวกเราได้อย่างภาคภูมิใจหรือไม่ ทำไมเราถึงไม่พยายามที่จะนั่งคุยกันดีๆโดยใช้เหตุผลเป็นหลัก ถ้าลองมองดูดีๆก็อาจจะเห็นได้ว่าเป็นเพราะมีผลประโยชน์เข้ามาเกี่ยวของหรือไม่ คนที่ทำเพื่อชาติอย่างแท้จริงยังมีอยู่หรือ ตอนเราเกิดมาเราเอาอะไรมา ตอนเราไปเราก็เอาไปเหมือนตอนเรามา การที่เราเอาชาติและเลือดของบรรพบุรุษเรามาเดิมพันเพื่อประโยชน์ของคนบางกลุ่มมันถูกดืแล้วหรือ เราต้องสูญเสียไปเท่าไหร่เราถึงยังเป็นไทได้อย่างนี้ ถ้าเรายังไม่สามัคคีกันอีกไม่นานเราคงจะสิ้นชาติสิ้นผืนแผ่นดิน

ในเรื่องของม็อบชาวพุทธอยากให้ท่านทั้งหลายลองมีสติดู แล้วคิดดูว่าสิ่งที่ท่านกำลังทำอยู่นั้นช่วยชาติหรือศาสนาพุทธหรือไม่ ผมก็เป็นชาวพุทธและผมก็รักศาสนาพุทธ แต่ท่านยังจำกันได้ไหมตอนที่เรายังเป็นเด็กเราเรียนมาว่าทุกศาสนาดีเหมือนกันหมด สิ่งที่ท่านกำลังทำอยู่จะทำให้คนไทยแยกหรือไม่ แล้วคนไทยที่ไม่ใช่ชาวพุทธจะรู้สึกอย่างไร พวกเราเป็นชาวพุทธเราน่าจะลองใช้สติดู ท่านที่นุ่งเหลืองห่มเหลืองลองตรองดู ว่าการที่ท่านมาร่วมชุมนุมร่วมตะโกนท่านเอาอารมณ์มาเป็นที่ตั้งอยู่หรือไม่ การที่ท่านทำให้ผู้คนแตกแยกทะเลาะกันเป็นบาปหรือไม่ ลองใช้สติกันสักนิดเถิดครับ เมื่อเรามีสติแล้วปัญญาก็จะตามมาเอง

ผมรู้สึกสงสารในหลวงของพวกเราที่่ท่านต้องมารับรู้เรื่องพวกนี้แต่ไม่สามารถที่จะทำอะไรได้ เหมือนว่าพวกเราชาวไทยทำหูทวนลมต่อพระราชดำรัสที่ท่านได้ให้กับพวกเราไว้

ก่อนจะไปก็จะขอทิ้งท้ายด้วยเนื้อเพลงชาติไทย สำหรับชาวไทยทุกท่านโดยเฉพาะท่านที่อาจจะลืมเนื้อและความหมายไปแล้ว

ประเทศไทยรวมเลือดเนื้อชาติเชื้อไทย

เป็นประชารัฐผไทของไทยทุกส่วน

อยู่ดำรงคงไว้ได้ทั้งมวล

ด้วยไทยล้วนหมายรักสามัคคี

ไทยนี้รักสงบแต่ถึงรบไม่ขลาด

เอกราชจะไม่ให้ใครข่มขี่

สละเลือดทุกหยาดเป็นชาติพลี

A couple of interesting news from CNN.com today…

The first one was about a high school denying several students of their high school diploma because they got cheered during the ceremony. While I feel sorry for those students, I would like to commend the school for taking a stand. I think that graduation is a solemn ceremony, and that every student has the right to share this important moments with their family. Oftentimes, the names of some students are not heard because of all the cheering. It is once in a lifetime moment, and it is not fair that this precious moment of theirs would be ruin by some other people’s what I would call rude, inconsiderate, and uncourteous actions. There are so many opportunities before and after the ceremony for family and friends to congratulate their beloved graduates. I do not think that it is that difficult to perceive what is proper and what is not. I also do not think that it is that difficult to think how our actions may affect others before we do it. Let’s be considerate and courteous to others… and the world would be a much better place…

Another (extremely) good news is the one about this one of the top 10 spammers getting arrested. I don’t have much comment about this, except that I think he should be put in jailed and/or banned from using any computer for the rest of his life… Actually, someone should rally up people and just go to his house and spam him with trash… see if he would like that…
